Our loving father, husband, son, friend, and colleague, Steven Corey Magleby, moved on Friday, October 1, 1999.

Steven was born October 20, 1950, in Salt Lake City to Bud and Patricia Magleby. He was later joined by a little brother, Donald. He married Linda Brewer in 1974, and raised three children, Joshua, Zachary, and Alexander. They later divorced in 1990.Dad graduated from Olympus High School in 1968, where he served as president of the Men's Association, participated in debate, and attended Boys' State. During the Vietnam War, he was stationed at Wiesbaden, Germany, working for the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Afterwards, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah School of Law, where he wrote for and edited Law Review. As a clerk for the Utah State Attorney General, Steven helped write the Code on Capital Punishment for the State of Utah. He worked as a civil attorney for the firm of Watkiss and Campbell before retiring. Steven was active on the Board of Trustees for Friendship Manor and First Congregational Church, and was President of the Board of Trustees for the Disability Law Center, where he was instrumental in moving forward legislation designed to help disabled individuals. Steven was a devout follower of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and was active in the Transcendental Meditation movement and the Natural Law Party.

 He is survived by three sons, Joshua, Zachary, and Alexander; parents, Bud Magleby and Patricia Shoemaker; brother, Donald Gregg of Twin Falls, ID; stepfather, Herbert Shoemaker; daughter-in-law, Kristin Petty Magleby; stepsister, Janet Schlameus of Seattle, WA; grandmother, Vera Magleby; best friend, Linda B. Magleby; and numerous relatives and friends....

We'll miss you, Dad. We know you're finally free."
