Pamela J. Mathisen
Gone Dancing
Pam Mathisen, the blonde Norwegian who loved Greek dancing (and food) passed away October 17, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Pam was born in Duluth, MN., but managed to escape with her family to Salt Lake when she was ten. She attended Olympus High School and graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters Degree in Sociology. She then earned a Paralegal Degree in San Diego and went on to earn a Masters Degree of Library Science from that other University. She worked at Jones Waldo for 30 years before retiring. An amazing accomplishment her husband Jerry wryly noted, in that she never killed a single attorney.
She married the love of her life Jerry Griffin in 1988. Their love remained steadfast throughout her illness.
Pam loved to shop till she dropped. She also loved Swiss Days, the Utah Shakespearean Festival and her dogs; especially her recently departed angel dog Fancy. Hopefully they both are now walking the beaches of Carmel. She was a generous and adventurous soul. She lived in Greece and traveled throughout Europe.
Pam is survived by her husband, parents Alvin and Jean Mathisen, her brother Allen and Sister Paula (Mike) Hiltz and so many nephews and nieces that we couldn't afford to list them all. But not to be left out, her devil dog Erin.

We would all be lucky to have the circle of friends that Pam had, with special thanks to Lynne for all her years of friendship.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at St. Joseph Villa for their dedication.
A visitation will be held Saturday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary 372 East 100 South Committal to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 4th Ave. and T Street.
In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to your favorite pet charity. Or better yet find a home in your heart for a pet.
I'll keep you in my heart forever, Jerry.
