DEATH: MARK H. "MICK" BOYLE

Published - Deseret News: March 5, 1991

Mick Boyle, 40, died early Sunday morning, March 3, 1991 at his home in Sandy, Utah.

Mick was born August 7, 1950, in Salt Lake City to Mark K. and Beth Hales Boyle. He attended Olympus Junior High where he was student body president, and Olympus High School where he was a representative for Boys' State and Boys' Nation. He later graduated from Brigham Young University and was active in athletics and student activities, serving as president of the Cougar Club. In 1977, he suffered a spinal cord injury in a diving accident and finished law school from his hospital bed. He graduated with his law class in 1978 from J. Reuben Clark Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. He practiced law with his father until the time of his death. Mick served as a missionary in the Japan Tokyo Mission and loved the Japanese people. He had many church callings, but especially enjoyed home teaching and working with the youth. Mick was loved by and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a great example of faith, courage and the ability to overcome any and all obstacles. He retained his keen sense of humor in spite of the trials he faced. Many came to him for encouragement and strength to endure their own trials. He cherished his family and friends and they brought him much joy.

Surviving Mick are his wife, Cheryl; and five beautiful children, three sons, Casey, 15, Cameron, 14, and McKay, 1; two daughters, Sydney, 6, and McKenzie, 1; his parents; brothers, John M. and wife, Noni, Twin Falls, Idaho; and Douglas K. and wife, Connie, Pleasanton, Calif.; a sister, Joanne, (Mrs. David A. Perry) North Bend, Washington; a grandmother, Elfie B. Boyle, Provo.

.

Mick will truly be missed by his wife, children, family, and friends, all of whom take great comfort in the knowledge that his spirit is free of all mortal restraints.
