GRANITE KIDS DONATION

Attention Olympus Classmates:

Along with our exciting reunion plans, the reunion committee hopes you’ll support a very important and worthy cause to help children in our school district. The project is GRANITE KIDS, a program that raises money to provide meals, food staples and necessities to the children and families in the district.

Here are some alarming facts about students in the Granite School District:

  • 65 percent of students are at or below poverty level
  • Of the district’s 68,000 students, 1,400 are homeless
  • The district has 70 percent of Utah’s refugees who need extra help and support

It seems very fitting for the Olympus Class of ‘68 to help these students by making donations to GRANITE KIDS. These donations can be in the form of checks made out to Granite Education Foundation, gift cards (Walmart, Smiths preferred), or paper-packaged foods (noodles, cereals, dried soups, packaged dinners, and canned tuna and meats). Donation boxes will be available at our 50th reunion Friday and Saturday events.  Any donation amount (large and small) will be used and very appreciated.

See you the weekend of September 7-8. If you are unable to attend the reunion events, donations can always be sent to Granite School District (Attn: Granite Kids), 2500 So. State Street, D-108,  Salt Lake City, UT 84115.  Of course, we’d rather see you in person at the reunion!!

Thank you in advance for your support.
